Roger Tincknell - Music for all Ages

Programs for Schools, Libraries, Community Organizations

During performances, students participate by singing in many languages, dancing and playing percussion instruments. Workshops and residencies may also include songwriting on environmental, multicultural or whole language themes.

Earth Rhythms

From rain forests to recycling, conservation to compost, Eath Rhythms travels from our backyard to around the world celebrating and teaching environmental awareness and responsibility. Captivating  songs, stories, legends and facts are accompanied by the Native American rainstick, Incan Charango and flute, Russian balalaika, African Achika drum, as well as guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmonica.

"I really enjoyed your show. It taught me about how fragile our planet is and that we should keep it clean and recycle." -- 5th Grade Student, Bridgeport, CT

Children's Songs and Singing Games

Participatory program for pre-school through grade three. Children sing, dance, move, imitate animals, play rhythm instruments, learn songs in Spanish and other languages through call and response, and explore other cultures through traditional and contemporary children's songs and play parties from around the world. Highly interactive program.

"Your performance was the best I've seen! The children had a wonderful time moving, singing and playing the instruments."
-- Heidi Lazdauskas, Music Teacher, Shelton, CT

From Native and African Americans to European and Southeast Asian immigrants, Roger explores our rich and diverse heritage through songs in many languages performed on a variety of stringed, wind and percussion instruments.
